Revised Enhanced Academic Advising Proposal

Many thanks to everyone who contributed comments to refine the Academic Advising Proposal. Here is the "new and improved" proposal: Enhanced Academic Advising (Revised)

  1. The faculty advising section should contain some description of how advisee are assigned and make sure that the load is roughly equal between faculty members. I have over 300 people on my list and I am having trouble serving the ones that do come (over 70 students last year, some I met with multiple times), so requiring students to come to their faculty advisors would kill me. Also, there should be some sort of central advising body for everyone to report issues, trainings, ideas to and who make sure that advisee is standardized across campus. Finally, faculty should have a say about the NOVA connect database layout as it is not user friendly (e.g. doesn't show student's major on the main list of all student names and ids, doesn't allow for faculty to set apart students who have graduated and need to be removed from the list).
